State of the College Moving Forward
THE MISSION is the driving force behind what we do, proven through the programs we offer and how we evaluate new opportunities.
THE PRIORITY of our time and efforts focus on programs that support today's community of learners with the understanding that sustainability of our campus and its ability to do its work for years to come are paramount.
THANK YOU to the Core 128 partners. Their support was and is crucial. Fortunately, through the College's good work, these funds were able to be set aside for an appropriate time in the future.
NEW PUMAS - The College also recognizes 120 new Pumas. They clearly demonstrate progress and remind us all why we do the work we do.

New Dispatcher Certification
Saint Joseph’s College is enrolling for our upcoming classes for dispatcher certification. As the lifeline to people in crisis, emergency dispatchers must continuously learn, improve, and validate their skills so as to guide callers through complex emergency situations. Certification helps ensure that the high standards of customer service, care, and public safety are met. Certified dispatchers gain not only increased competency but also professional pride and self-confidence—qualities that are critical to managing stressful situations. Certification is required to use any of the IAED Priority Dispatch Systems™.
Emergency Telecommunications (ETC) is a 40-hour program produced by the IAED (International Academies of Emergency Dispatch) and is designed to train those unfamiliar with emergency communication centers to become effective 911 emergency dispatchers.
The program takes an integrated teaching approach that features comprehensive content, multimedia presentations, and hands-on training. Students will learn through instructor-led lecture, discussion, video segments, audiotape review of actual 911 calls, case transcripts, hands-on practice and role-playing to increase their expertise and confidence in extreme situations.
The program begins May 31st pending enrollment with classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 8:30 pm and finishes on July 7th. Space is limited to 12 students, so please register early to secure your spot! For information or how to register please visit www.saintjoe.edu/etc or contact Hali Chapman RMA, Academic Program Director at (219) 866-6000 x 2022 or hchapman@saintjoe.edu.

Saint Joseph’s College Spotlighted by NWI WorkOne
Saint Joseph's College was chosen to be WorkOne's Provider Spotlight on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022. Saint Joe was chosen based on its very high completion rate, 100% national certification exam passing rate and high employment rate after graduation. During Saint Joseph's 30-minute presentation, Hali Chapman RMA, SJC’s Academic Program Director, presented a PowerPoint featuring our current certificate and degree programs to all of Northwest Indiana's WorkOne locations. After the presentation, Chapman led a Q&A session with many different WorkOne locations.
WorkOne is the heart of Indiana’s workforce development system. WorkOne staff help our local community members find new or better jobs, choose a career, access training or get the information needed to succeed in today's job market. In addition to assistance with Saint Joe’s certification program tuition, WorkOne can provide funding assistance for some of Saint Joe’s degree programs that are considered in high demand.
The WorkOne Provider Spotlight is an informational seminar for WorkOne locations followed by a Q&A. It helps educate WorkOne locations on what the spotlighted provider has to offer and their successes. WorkOne locations a further distance from the College were particularly interested in Saint Joe’s remote certificate and degree programs. Thanks to the spotlight, Saint Joseph’s College is more widely known to all of NWI's WorkOne locations. Since the presentation, Chapman reported a spike in the number of students enrolling in the online courses.
For more information about how you can enroll in these programs, please contact Hali Chapman RMA, Academic Program Coordinator at (219) 866-6000 x2022 or hchapman@saintjoe.edu.
