Graduate Spotlight ~ Arin Tarr

We'd like to take this time to congratulate Arin Tarr on becoming our 100th Medical Assistant graduate! We are so proud of all you have accomplished. We know you'll have a great career as a Medical Assistant! Have fun and enjoy everything the future holds for you!

Arin enrolled in our summer Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program held from May to August 2023. This was also our first hybrid program!

Name, Age, what course did you take and where are you originally from?

Arin Tarr, 20. I took the CCMA Course at SJC. I am originally from Medaryville, IN.

What were you doing before you attended SJC? i.e. other jobs, considering other schools, etc.

Before attending SJC I was working PRN as a Patient Care Assistant at Franciscan Health Crown Point.

Where are you currently working and what do you like about it? What’s a typical day on the job like?

I am not currently working. I have been a stay at home mom for a few months but do plan to go back to work soon with my new certification.

Favorite memory of your time spent at SJC or something that stood out to you?

My favorite memory of SJC would have to be any of my on-campus classes. My class was very laid back, always had a good laugh and got work done.

How did you hear about Saint Joseph’s College?

I heard about SJC on Facebook. I had been looking to go back to school, and it seemed like a good option for me.

How did SJC contribute to your success?

I took a hybrid program so my class was only on campus the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. This was a huge help to me and my family, especially with having a 1 year old and not always having a babysitter available.
