Chapel Preservation

Dear Fellow Pumas and Friends,

In recent years, many of you have asked how you can support Saint Joseph’s College as it continues serving the underserved. With that in mind, I’m reaching out to ask for your help.

The Chapel has always been more than just a building; it was our spiritual home for freshman orientations, emotional Baccalaureate masses, weddings, and quiet moments of reflection with friends and classmates. As the “Heart of the Campus,” the twin towers are—and always will be—the soul of Saint Joe’s.

Currently, the Chapel is tied to a failing, campus-wide boiler system that comes with enormous operational costs. We already installed stand-alone HVAC systems in the Core building and Rec Center that increase efficiencies, save money, and make it easier to build out our programs. The next step is installing a high-efficiency heating system in the Chapel, helping preserve the building and preparing it for our current and future needs.

I’m asking you for your financial help to achieve two critical goals:

• Modern climate control: Installing an independent, high-efficiency heating system will save hundreds of thousands of dollars and ensure the chapel is preserved for decades to come.
• Basement renovations: Transforming the Chapel basement into a modern, usable space for storing our archives and creating new classrooms as we grow.

Saint Joe’s retired our debt, and our current programs are growing. The board has been very intentional about investing in infrastructure and programs that yield a return, fulfill our mission, and are relevant to current and future educational needs.

Investing in the Chapel signals to the world that the spirit of Saint Joseph’s is not just a memory, but a living legacy. I’m calling on our alumni and friends—those who walked its aisles and sat in its pews—to help us protect and preserve this landmark for future generations by donating today.
