Bob Souza '69 Elected to SJC Council of Fellows
Bob Souza '69 has been elected to the Saint Joseph's College Council of Fellows. Souza earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from SJC, as well as a Master's in Education and an Education Specialist degree in Reading Supervision from Indiana University Bloomington.
After graduating from SJC, Souza went east to teach at an elementary school in Pawtucket, R.I. He then moved back to Rensselaer to teach at Van Rensselaer Elementary School, where he taught for 40 years. For 20 years, he served as a reading specialist for both Van Rensselaer and Monnett elementary schools. Souza has witnessed the many changes and improvements made to SJC over the years, and he wants to see the College continue to move forward in the right direction.
"I want to see SJC grow and prosper, and my goal as a member of the Council of Fellows is to help ensure that it does just that," said Souza.
Souza is now retired and resides in Rensselaer with his wife, Nancy.
Saint Joseph's College, named a "character-building college" by the Templeton Foundation and a "best Midwestern college" by the Princeton Review, is a four-year, Catholic college offering 27 majors, 4 group majors, 34 minors, and 9 pre-professional programs, complemented by the nationally acclaimed Core Program.
