Rensselaer's Christine Mahnesmith Elected to SJC Council of Fellows

Christine Mahnesmith has been elected to the Saint Joseph's College Council of Fellows. Mahnesmith grew up in Angola, Ind. She attended the University of Indianapolis, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1989 and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1990.

In 1993, Mahnesmith moved to Rensselaer with her late husband, Kent. She began working at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer in 1995 as an occupational therapist before being named the Director of Rehabilitation, a position she still holds.

Mahnesmith belongs to the St. Augustine School Principal's Advisory Committee and the Indiana Falls Prevention Coalition, a group that aims to prevent elderly falls. She is a parishioner at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

"As a member of the SJC Council of Fellows, I have a great opportunity to give back to the College for all that it does for the community," said Mahnesmith.

Mahnesmith resides in Rensselaer with her daughter, Sarah.
