Saint Joseph's College Jazz Band to Perform Favorites of the Genre

On Sunday, November 11, the Saint Joseph's College Jazz Band will present its annual Fall Jazz Band Concert at 4:00 pm CST in the Evans Arts and Science Building Theatre on the SJC campus. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.

"This year's band is quite young, which is great because the students have a lot of time to develop," said SJC Associate Professor of Music Dr. Paul Geraci. "Despite the youth of the students, they have been able to pick up a lot of music quickly."

The Jazz Band will perform a total of nine pieces, including well known works by famed jazz musicians Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, and William "Count" Basie. With 19 players, this year's Jazz Band is the largest Dr. Geraci has worked with in his eight years at SJC. Each student will have an improvised jazz solo at some point in the show.
