Saint Joseph's College Named a Best Midwestern College for Ninth Straight Year
For the ninth straight year, Saint Joseph's College has been named a Best Midwestern College by the nationally known education services company, The Princeton Review. It is one of 153 institutions The Princeton Review recommends in its "Best Midwestern Colleges" section of its website feature, "2013 Best Colleges: Region by Region." The full listing can be viewed at www.PrincetonReview.com.
Students surveyed by The Princeton Review had high praise for the College's dedicated faculty, saying, "Professors take the place of parents at Saint Joseph's College. They care about us not only as students, but also as human beings." SJC has a student/faculty ratio of 14:1.
"It is an honor to be named to The Princeton Review's 'Best in the Midwest' list," said SJC President Dr. F. Dennis Riegelnegg. "The faculty, students, and staff of the College all have a share in this prestigious recognition."
For this project, The Princeton Review asks students attending the schools to rate their own schools on several issues -- from the accessibility of their professors to quality of the campus food -- and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students, and their campus life. Comments from surveyed students are quoted in the school profiles on The Princeton Review site.
The Princeton Review is an education services company known for its test-prep courses, tutoring, books, and other student resources. Headquartered in Framingham, Mass., with editorial offices in New York and locations across the United States and abroad, the Princeton Review, which is a privately held company, is not affiliated with Princeton University.
Saint Joseph's College, named a "character-building college" by the Templeton Foundation and a "best Midwestern college" by the Princeton Review, is a four-year, Catholic college offering 27 majors, 4 group majors, 34 minors, and 9 pre-professional programs, complemented by the nationally acclaimed Core Program. Founded and sponsored by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, SJC is located in Rensselaer, Indiana, approximately 90 minutes from both Chicago and Indianapolis, on a park-like campus of 180 acres and has an enrollment of approximately 1,100 students.
