Enjoy Christmas Classics at the Saint Joseph's College Band Christmas Concert
The celebration of the Christmas season continues with the Saint Joseph's College band Christmas Concert, which will be held Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 pm CST in the Halleck Student Center Ballroom on the SJC campus. Those who attend are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry in Rensselaer, Ind.
Several traditional and popular works will be performed at the concert, including "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," "Carol of the Bells," "Silent Night," "Stars and Stripes for Christmas," and Mannheim Steamroller's "Deck the Halls." The concert will end with an audience sing-along followed by a reception, sponsored by the SJC Office of Alumni and Parent Relations.
"This concert is our gift to the Rensselaer community and the SJC campus," said SJC Band Director and Associate Professor of Music Robb Thiel.
Senior Music Education major Kelso Daning of Bristol, Ind. will serve as a guest conductor with the Symphonic Band, and one feature of the concert will be "Four Christmas Stories," performed by the Drum Set Quartet and sophomore Music major MacKenzie Tobar of Logansport, Ind. on harp. The Wind Ensemble will also perform at the concert.
