|
Environmental Science is a dynamic, interdisciplinary field of vital concern to all. Because the Earth's population is rapidly increasing but our resources are finite, we must make a concerted effort to understand and minimize our impacts on the environment, and more wisely use those resources which are necessary for our survival. Environmental Science courses at Saint Joseph's College are designed to give students an understanding of the scientific principles and technical skills necessary to meet the environmental challenges of the coming decades. A group major allows students to gain a broad background in the Biological and Earth sciences as well as other natural and physical sciences. The Environmental Science major includes a significant emphasis on field projects and problem solving skills in preparation for a career in this diverse field.
